Which Lemsip products are NOT suitable for vegetarians?

Lemsip products not suitable for vegetarians are: Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Capsules, Lemsip Max Sinus Capsules and Lemsip Flu 12 Hour Capsules.

What is the source of gelatin in Lemsip Capsules?

The gelatin in Lemsip Capsules is animal-derived.

Question 3

Can you take Lemsip if you have a history of raised blood pressure/hypertension?

Lemsip contains decongestants which work by constricting the blood vessels, this action may worsen raised blood pressure/hypertension. Therefore Lemsip should not be taken by people with a history of raised blood pressure/hypertension.

Can you take Lemsip if you have a history of Raynaud's Disease?

Lemsip contains decongestants which work by constricting the blood vessels, this action may worsen the symptoms of Raynaud's Disease. Therefore Lemsip should not be taken by people with Raynaud's Disease.

Can you take Lemsip if you have a history of coronary heart disease, heart failure, or any other heart problem?

Lemsip should be avoided by people with a history of coronary heart disease, cardiac failure, or any other heart problem.

Can you take Lemsip if you have asthma?

People with asthma should discuss the use of Lemsip with their doctor prior to using any of the products.

Question 8

Can you take Lemsip if you have a history of an overactive thyroid/hyperthyroidism?

Lemsip should be avoided by people with a history of an overactive thyroid/hyperthyroidism as the active decongestants in the products may worsen symptoms. This is not the case for underactive thyroid/hypothyroidism sufferers. For further advice, please see your doctor or pharmacist.

Can you take Lemsip during pregnancy?

Lemsip is not recommended during pregnancy. For further advice, please see your doctor or pharmacist.

Can you take Lemsip while breast feeding?

Some of the active ingredients may be secreted in the breast milk. Lemsip is not recommended in people who are breast feeding

Is Lemsip recommended for use by people with diabetes?

Lemsip sachets do contain sugar, however Lemsip Capsules are sugar free. Please check with your Doctor before using any of our products.

Is Lemsip recommended for use by people with Coeliac Disease?

All Lemsip products are gluten free and will not exacerbate Coeliac Disease.

Does Lemsip contain lactose?

The Lemsip range is free from lactose and may be taken by people with a lactose intolerance.

Question 14

Can boiling water be used when preparing Lemsip sachets?

Lemsip should be prepared with hot, but not boiling water.

Question 15

Can Lemsip be prepared with cold water?

Lemsip should only be prepared as per the instructions, preparation with cold water may result in abnormal mixing of ingredients and is not recommended. Lemsip should be prepared with hot, but not boiling water.

Can Lemsip be taken concurrently with other ibuprofen-based painkillers?

Some Lemsip products contain ibuprofen so always read the leaflet. If in doubt, seek advice from your doctor. People should not take more than one product which contains paracetamol at any one time. People should also not take more than one product which contains ibuprofen at any one time.

Can Lemsip be taken concurrently with prescribed antibiotics?

There are no specific known reactions between Lemsip and prescribed antibiotics. However it is recommended that your doctor is consulted when you are considering taking other medications with prescribed antibiotics.

Can Lemsip be taken concurrently with prescribed antidepressants?

Lemsip is not suitable for patients taking antidepressants.

What is the recommended period between doses of Lemsip?

Please refer to the leaflet or carton for dosing instructions.

What should I do if I suspect I’ve taken an overdose of Lemsip?

If you’re concerned you’ve taken an overdose of Lemsip or any other painkiller, you should immediately contact a doctor or healthcare professional, taking the packaging with you.
